We are putting on a show that has not been seen before. Once again we are giving Bacolod something new to look forward to, festival director Eli Tajanlangit said yesterday.

Electric MassKara, one of the highlights of this month long activity, will open this Friday at the one kilometer Tourism Strip along Lacson Street. This will open by 7 p.m. Friday where 10 lighted floats carrying dancers, musicians and other performers will entertain the crowds, he said.

We have reengineered the electric MassKara streetdance into a performing float competition with 10 barangays participating on Friday, Tajanlangit said.

Considering the crowds in the Tourism Strip, we have decided on a parade of performers atop mobile floats, he said.

This will make the entire Lacson St., a one kilometer place to party!!!

The giant party where revelers dance the night away until the countdown to midnight is patterned after the New York celebration at Times Square on New year’s eve, Tajanlangit said.

MassKara festival is comparable to the Brazilian Mardi Gras held at Riode Janeiro.

This ancient cityis known as Leukaspis or Antiphrae. It was hidden for centuries after it was nearly wiped out by a huge fourth century tsunami that devastated the region. And not so long ago, it was almost buried underneath the modern resort of Marina in a development craze that turned this coast into the summer playground for the Egypt’s elite.

In a company statement, Intel disclosed that  the cash transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011 and the mobile unit will remain as a stand alone business. Three people close to the negotiation table had given a statment on Friday that Inteland Infineon would likely reach an agreement on the business’s future within the next few days.

Two weeks after the company announced its $7.7 billion offer for McAfee Inc on Aug 19, its largest acquisition, bolstering the appeal of its chips as it tries to expand further into the mobile market, the planned acquisition of Infineon is the second major deal for Intel.

Intel’s Atom mobile chips took the low-cost, no-frills netbook market by storm but are rarely found in smartphones where other chipmakers have dominated.

But skeptics and analysts alike have cautioned the market,stating that while an acquisition such as Infineon’s mobile chip unit is a step in the right direction, it will however, take time to produce results.

Meanwhile, UK based ARM’s Chip Design which more power efficient as compared to Intel, still continue to dominate and still grab the market share.

After Intel warned its third-quarter revenue would fall short of its own expectations due to weak consumer demand on personal computers, Infeneon’s share saw a dipped in the stock market, and fell 1.4% to 4.54 Euro, as of 0812GMT in Frankfurt.

Robert, known for climbing some of the world’s tallest and best-known buildings without ropes or other equipment, was arrested at the top of the Lumiere building downtown Sydney. He climbed the building in just about 20 minutes, as dozens of people watched with awe from way down below in this down under country.

His agent, Max Markson said, “I’m sad he’s been arrested, but hopefully he’ll get out soon and we can have some champagne.”

Robert is still awaiting for the authorities to file necesarry charges as he has not yet been charged.

Last year, Robert was also fined for climbing the 41 story Royal Bank of Scotland building also in Sydney for a handsome price of  750 Australian dollars ($676).

Many of his past climbs have resulted in arrests and fines.

Last monday, Former police officer Rolando Mendoza hijacked and commandeered a bus carrying a 20-member tour group visiting Manila City, the Philippine capital, hoping to reverse his dismissal from the force on what he said were bogus robbery and extortion charges.

He released several children and elderly hostages earlier in the 12-hour standoff, but reportedly opened fire on the tourists on the latter part. The Philippine National Police claimed that police sniper killed Mendoza after eight tourists already were killed. Three others were seriously wounded, including one who is still in a coma.

The Philippines government ordered a thorough investigation, but that has done little to stem anger in this wealthy southern Chinese territory where violent crime is rare.

About 20 Hong Kong legislators led the crowd gathered at an urban park in a short ceremony honoring the dead before setting off on a march to the financial district. Police did not estimate the size of the crowd, but organizers said about 80,000 people took part.

Several reports have been received of some discrimation against Filipino residents in Hong Kong and Filipino Tourist have been given shabby treatment by some Hong Kong Airport Officials.

Both are expected to reach a deal without “blacking out any TV networks,” , citing unnamed people familiar with the talks. The Walt Disney-Time Warner Cable feud marks the latest scuffle between subscription television providers and media companies that own the TV networks they distribute into consumers’ homes.

As the recession forced businesses to cut budgets for TV advertising — traditionally the main source of revenue for broadcast stations — television networks started asking for a higher fee per subscriber. The cable TV companies have resisted in saying higher fees will get passed along to customers in the form of bigger cable bills. In March, Cablevision Systems Corp. customers lost their ABC station in New York in the hours leading up to the Oscars due to a programming fee dispute.

The two companies have reached a tentative deal that night, and the channel was restored to viewers 15 minutes into the awards show. Other standoffs have pitted Time Warner Cable against News Corp.’s Fox stations, and Mediacom Communications Corp. against Sinclair Broadcasting Group.
